How to Search Adams County Court Dockets

The public docket search lives at coloradojudicial.gov/dockets. It covers every district and county court in Colorado, including Adams. The portal returns hearing rows, not the full case file. The Adams County courts that feed the portal are the 17th Judicial District trial courts based at the Justice Center, 1100 Judicial Center Dr., Brighton.

The form opens with the date range set to one week. Adams County dockets show up once you add a non-date filter. Most users start with a name or a case number. The portal also takes attorney name or attorney bar number, useful for tracking a lawyer's caseload.

  1. Open the Colorado docket search. The page loads with a one-week date range by default.
  2. Pick Adams County under the County dropdown, or pick the 17th Judicial District. The Courthouse field narrows to Adams County Justice Center.
  3. Pick a Court Type. County covers traffic, misdemeanors, small claims, and lower civil. District covers felonies, domestic relations, probate, juvenile, and larger civil.
  4. Set the Date Range to 6 Months, 3 Months, 1 Month, 1 Week, Today, or Specific Date. Specific Date opens a calendar picker.
  5. Add a party name, case number, attorney name, or attorney bar number. The system needs at least one filter beyond the date.
  6. Click Find Dockets. Review the result rows, use the Printable Version link, or click Export Results above the table.

The same portal links to the Colorado access guide for public records for users who need pleadings or orders rather than hearing rows. Older files and full documents come from the Adams County Records Unit at 303-654-3239.

Adams County court dockets search portal

The portal lists each Adams County hearing with the date, time, case number, hearing type, location, appearance type, and courtroom in a single row.

Required Filters for Adams County Dockets

The docket portal posts a key rule near the top of the form. Use any of the fields to find a list of Adams County court dockets. At least one filter in addition to the date is required to run the search. That means a date range alone will not return a list. You need a location, a court type, a case number component, a party name, or an attorney filter.

The cleanest filter for Adams County court dockets is the County dropdown set to Adams. Pair that with a name or a case class and the result list shrinks fast. The form also accepts a four-digit year and a case sequence on their own. Searchers who follow a single case usually skip the date filters and lean on the case number components.

Note: The docket portal will not run with only a date range, so add at least one location, name, case number, or attorney filter before clicking Find Dockets.

The Appearance Type column shows In Person, Virtual, or blank. Virtual hearings use the court's Webex links. The Justice Center publishes the link from its main court page. Parties who plan to appear virtually should check the Adams County court page in advance for the courtroom's Webex address and keep a phone number ready as a backup.

Printable and Export Options for Adams County Dockets

Above the result grid, the docket portal shows two helper controls. The Printable Version link strips the page down to a clean format for paper or PDF. The Export Results control pulls the result list out of the page so users can save it. Pagination controls run across the bottom with First, Previous, page numbers, Next, and Last, used when an Adams County court docket search returns many rows.

The export gives a quick way to compare an attorney's docket across weeks or to track a single defendant's hearings over a few months. The same controls work for both county and district court searches.

Adams County Court Dockets vs Full Case Records

The portal returns docket rows. The Adams County Records Unit holds the full case file. The docket tells you when, where, and what kind of hearing. The case file holds the pleadings, motions, orders, judgments, and financial entries. The two work together. A docket row tells you the case exists and gives the number, then you ask the Records Unit for what sits behind it.
